Warren G. Buchter, Sr., age 86, life long resident of Hamden, husband of the late Charlotte Buchter, passed away on November 29, 2011. He was born in New Haven on September 11, 1925 to the late Norris and Julia Schebler Buchter. Warren leaves his sons, Mark and his wife Suzanne of Ansonia, Gary and Robert both of Hamden, and Warren Jr. and his wife Cinda of Bethany; daughter, Kimberly Moran and her husband John of Palm Harbor, FL; brother, Norris and his wife Jean of Holiday, FL; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; former wife, Edith Buchter of Greenville, ME and her children, Chris and Nelson Towle and Laura Curran. Warren was a proud US Navy Veteran having served aboard the LST 344 during the invasion of Normandy. He retired from SNET in 1978 after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Telephone Pistol Team. Warren's family would like to acknowledge the personal care and comfort provided from the staff at Hewitt Health & Rehab and his personal caregiver, Mike Nyame. Friends may visit with Warren's family on Friday, December 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Burial of Cremains, Saturday, December 10th at 10 am at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.   10. I have fond memories of visiting my cousin Warren with my parents Oscar and Gertrude Petersen when I was in high school back in the early 60’s. We had a fabulous time in Hamden. Warren also visited me when I lived in Chicago in the late 60’s. We showed him the nite life on Rush Street and had a great time. My condolences to Warren Jr, Gary, Mark and Bobbie.
