N. Yvonne Dingus, age 85 of Hamden passed away March 20, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital / St. Raphael Campus. Yvonne was the widow of Edwin F. Dingus. Born on December 30. 1939 in Starke, Florida she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Virginia (Brantley) Purdee.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter  Betty L. Heath of Green Ohio; her son Edwin J. Dingus and his wife Michele of Hamden, CT; her grandchildren David M. Heath and his wife Bailey, Brittney Y. Heath and Jacob E. Heath, her great grandchildren Bellamy and Caynan Heath all of Ohio; and her siblings Elaine Kirkland, Janice Sutton, Diane Wall and Chuck Purdee all of Florida, She was predeceased by siblings Leslie Eschol Purdee, Geraldine Woodard, David Purdee, and James Purdee also of Florida.

Yvonne was a resident of Hamden since 1999, moving from Branford. She spent many years as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and The Social Order of the Beauceant. She loved to feed the birds and squirrels in her backyard, watch the Yankee games, was an avid reader, and always was a friend when you needed one. Her love for her husband, children and family was only matched by her love of God.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you all were super close with grandma/ mom. Betty I am glad you got some extra time to be with her at her end. David was lucky she got to see him and Bailey get married and give her 2 beautiful grandchildren!Brittany and Jacob she was lucky to see you two grow up. I will keep you in my prayers.
