John W. Harmon

John W. “Jackie” Harmon, age 77, of Wallingford, passed away January 12, 2026. Born in New Haven on June 29, 1948, he was the son of the late William W. Harmon and Ellen M.G. (Hurwitz) Harmon. John lived most of his life in Hamden. He played hockey for the Hamden High School team. John was a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. With his love of flying, he obtained his pilot’s license here in Connecticut. John would always keep himself busy; he worked with his brother-in-law at the former Gerry Stevens Tire Company in New Haven and was a private duty security guard whenever needed. He is survived by his sister, Jane Stevens of Hamden; his nephew, William Stevens, and niece, Cheryl (Anthony) Castillano, all of Hamden.

Friends may visit with his family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to his Prayer Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
