Jennette E. Cloutier

Jennette Edith Cloutier, 88, of Meriden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Miller Memorial Community Nursing Home. Born in Meriden on March 17, 1937, daughter of the late Edwin I. Vibberts and Elsie E. Stevens, she was a lifelong resident of Meriden and was a graduate of Meriden High School. After high school, Jennette married LeRoy J. Cloutier of Meriden and had two sons.

Jennette was a stay-at-home mom when her two boys were young and as they grew, she eventually ventured outside the home to find employment and fulfillment. Jennette worked in retail sales and eventually found her niche in the nursing home community as a housekeeper and a dietary aide. She worked at many of the convalescent and nursing homes in Meriden, caring for the elderly for many years.

Jennette loved mostly to be in her little home, taking care of her pets, and to be with her sons and grandsons, who visited almost daily.

Jennette is survived by two sons, Michael J. Cloutier (Julie) of Newington and William L. Cloutier (Pam) of Wallingford, four grandsons, Jonathan, Daniel, Nolan and Caden Cloutier, and niece, Loretta Vibberts of Morrison, Colorado. Jennette was preceded in death by her four brothers, Robert R. Vibberts (Marjorie), Edwin I. and Frederick F. Vibberts (twins), and Richard D. Vibberts (Olga), her former husband, LeRoy J. Cloutier, her loving partner, Norman Sawyer, and her niece, Marjorie Lumbra.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the medical professionals that helped and cared for Jennette along the way, including The Oncology Group at Mid-State Medical Center of Meriden and Hartford Healthcare In-Home Hospice Program. A special thanks to the bedside heroes, the nurses and aides, especially Nurse Susan and Aide Kim. Also, her personal care assistant Michelle.

Her family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden. A funeral service celebrating her life will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
