Pauline J. Heath, 91, wife of the late James E. Heath, entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2026 at the CT Baptist Home in Meriden surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Barre, VT on July 4, 1934, the daughter of the late George and Celia Brown Stanley, and was a lifelong Meriden resident.
She was the loving mother of several children, some of whom she became a mother to shortly after marrying a widower at a very young age. She is survived by Mary Poirier of MA, Edward (Marianne) Heath of Meriden, Joy (Bob) Oliano of North Haven, Michael (Susan) Heath of Meriden, Gayle Heath of Portland, Andrew (Roxanne) Heath of Meriden, Ronald Heath, and Steven (Lisa) Heath of Meriden. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by James, Robert, Bill, Sandra, Esther, Daniel, Deanna, Lester and Holly Heath.
She entered the workforce later in life and was employed in retail, at Hancock’s Pharmacy, several medical offices, and earned her CNA certificate in 1988. Her clients spoke very highly of her and appreciated her kind and compassionate care. She volunteered for the PTA when her children were of school age and her favorite event was the annual talent show, where she showcased her vocal abilities. She also served in the public school system as a math tutor and a buddy reader as well as serving with Literacy Volunteers. She taught ESL to adults through the adult education program in Meriden.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Middletown and held a strong faith and belief system that was a great source of strength to her throughout her lifetime. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, and reading. She was a very talented knitter and seamstress and shared her creations with her family and friends. During the Covid pandemic she sewed over 50 fabric facemasks for the residents at her senior living complex. She was often sought out for alterations and clothing repairs and enjoyed helping those around her.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the CT Baptist Home for their kind and compassionate care to Pauline.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, March 5th from 12 to 2 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 1:30.
