Stanley Edward Sandquist

Stanley Edward Sandquist, 90, of Hamden, husband of the late Marion Drummey Sandquist, passed away on June 8, 2010. He was born in New Haven on May 7, 1920 to the late Albin and Anna Carlson Sandquist. Stanley leaves his three daughters, Barbara and Laura Sandquist of Hamden and Gerry Parisi and her husband Mark of Branford and a few nieces. Predeceased by siblings, Alan and Russell Sandquist, Inez Duncklee, and Hilda Clarke. Stanley grew up in Hamden before he and Marion moved to East Haven to raise their family. They later moved back to Hamden where he has been for the last 46 years. He is a proud WWII Army Veteran, worked for Winchester's for 48 years, and was a long time parishioner of St. Rita's Church. Stanley had a summer residence in Lanphiers Cove in Branford for over 50 years where many wonderful memories were made. He was an avid golfer, runner, swimmer, and bowler. He was even a member of the Winchester Bowling League for over 30years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 11th at St. Rita's Church at 9:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Centerville Cemetery. Dear Barbara, Gerry & Laura, It was with great sadness that I learned of the loss of your Dad, Stan. I remember his kindness in making me feel comfortable at my new job at Winchester Western in the mid sixties and the warm summer days at Lanphiers cove.
