Luz E. Marquez, 60, of Meriden, loving wife of Santos Jr. Marquez, passed away on March 8, 2026. She was born in Carolina, P.R. on December 8, 1965, a daughter of Jesus M. Hiraldo Sr. and Carmen Colon Hiraldo. In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Ashley M. Marquez and her boyfriend Eric Padilla, and Christopher L. Marquez and his girlfriend Bianca Boschetti; her grandchildren, Cristian J. Perez, Antonio J. Perez, Ariella L. Marquez, and Christopher L. Marquez; and siblings, Carmen J. Salas, Jesus M. Hiraldo, Jr., Waleska Hiraldo, and Angel M. Hiraldo.
Luz was a devoted Christian who loved The Lord. She graduated from Maloney High School in 1984, and later from Middlesex Community College in 2014. She went on to work for Lane Construction Corporation and The Tomasso Group for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, reading The Bible and praying. Above all else, she loved worshipping The Lord, and spending time with her family.
A funeral service celebrating Luz’s life will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Iglesia A.C.M. El Shaddai, 53 Franklin Sq., New Britain. Friends may visit with her family from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Luz’s family kindly asks, PLEASE DO NOT SEND FLOWERS.
