Maureen E. Dobrindt, 72, of Meriden, died on Sunday, June 1, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with multiple medical issues, with her husband of 47 years, James W. Dobrindt at her side.
Maureen was born in Stafford Springs, CT on July 26, 1952, the daughter of James and Elaine Sullivan. She was employed during her career with Travelers Insurance, Arthur Andersen Co. and Skelley Rottner P.C.
Maureen had many talents. She loved decorating her home, tending her plants, planning parties and holiday gatherings, and baking. Her baking skills, in particular, were extraordinary, and her friends and family looked forward at Christmas and other occasions to the wonderful packages of goodies she created.
Maureen was a sweet soul, but she was not afraid to speak her mind, especially when she felt that any member of her family was being treated unjustly. For our family, she was the undisputed M.V.P.
She was also Proud Irish, with tokens of her Irish heritage displayed throughout her home. She fell in love with Ireland during her visit there. She also cherished the years camping with family at Hammonasset, and the yearly getaways with husband Jim to Kennebunkport, ME.
Besides Jim, Maureen is survived by two sons: Jason (Laura) and Michael (Danielle) Dobrindt; and two granddaughters: Breana and Lillian Dobrindt, who were the loves of her life. She also leaves behind three sisters: Susan (Vassilios) Arvanitis; Theresa (William) Galica; and Kathleen Sullivan (partner Paul Grondin); brother-in-law Thomas Dobrindt; many cousins, nieces and nephews: and her two longest and dearest friends: Joanne Bennet and Leigh (“Bebe”) Conklin.
Friends are invited to visit with Maureen’s family on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden. A service celebrating her life will begin at 11:00, followed by burial in Gethsemane Cemetery. To send condolences, please see Maureen’s obituary at www.beecherandbennett.com.

Deepest sympathy to Jim, the boys and the Sullivan cousins. Maureen will always hold a special place in our family memories. Jim you are a very good man and husband. No matter the health challenge you were her rock. Us members of the Sullivan family will miss the twinkle in her eyes and her humor… but we are comforted in our knowledge she is with the family we all miss but she may now enjoy. God bless you Cousin and watch over us!
Our deepest sympathies to Jim and the family on the loss of Maureen. She is finally at peace and free from her suffering. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Jim and Deborah Frederick.
