Mohan Lal Kapoor, 90, of Woodbridge, CT, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 24, 1935 in Punjab, India, Mohan was the second of six children. After the partition of India, he moved with his family to Delhi. In 1963, he came to the United States to earn a dual Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Utah State University.
Mohan dedicated his professional life to advancing aerospace technology. Over the course of 50 years, he worked for United Technologies, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. He earned more than 7 patents for his work and was known for his thoughtful, diligent approach to every project.
Mohan’s greatest pride was his family. He married Saroj Bhalla in 1968, and together they raised two sons, Ajoy and Vishal, in Orange, CT. Mohan is remembered for his remarkable ability to fix absolutely anything, his gentle nature, and his pride in his grandchildren.
Mohan is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Saroj; his son Ajoy, and his wife, Renu, of Orange, CT; his son Vishal, and his wife Colleen, of Brooklyn, NY; his five grandchildren, Pavan, Akriti, Kieran, Mira, and Avir; and his sister, Manju Khanna. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Krishan Kapoor, Kewal Kapoor, Sneh Dhawan, and Prem Khanna.
A Hindu funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. The service can be viewed virtually on Zoom at: Mohan Kapoor Zoom Link. Password: Kapoor. His private cremation will follow.
