One thing I remember about Steve is that at the Connecticut Audio Society meetings he seemed to have the same self-taught practical hands-on experience about working with tube equipment. It’s not the kind of thing that’s in books, it comes from doing it, and Steve certainly was a doer.
Steve was a gym and tag sale friend who loved good music and organic food. I haven’t seen him in years, but I can still hear his distinctive voice when I think of him.
For several years Steve and I would would walk the halls of the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest together, as he made notes for Six Moons. He was one of the coolest guys in audio and a kindred spirit. I learned so much from him.
Farewell Steve.
