Steve grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He loved the great outdoors and staying active. Steve was a member of the Brandywine High School swimming and wrestling teams. Steve was self-employed, refurbishing vintage audio. He was a writer for Absolute Sound and 6 Moons Magazines, and a member of the CT Audio Society. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I knew Steve for many years as a fellow member of the Connecticut Audio Society. We visited each other homes to listen to music and discuss many life issues. Steve was a kind and generous person. Always willing to help others. Steve was always a person with a complete positive view of life and embraced every new day. Conversations were always positive and directed to finding the joys in life that sustain and enrich us. I will miss Steve and will always treasure my time with him. Sympathy and prayers for his dear wife and family.
Blessings for all , Dick Kochanek

  2. One thing I remember about Steve is that at the Connecticut Audio Society meetings he seemed to have the same self-taught practical hands-on experience about working with tube equipment. It’s not the kind of thing that’s in books, it comes from doing it, and Steve certainly was a doer.

  3. Steve was a gym and tag sale friend who loved good music and organic food. I haven’t seen him in years, but I can still hear his distinctive voice when I think of him.

  4. For several years Steve and I would would walk the halls of the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest together, as he made notes for Six Moons. He was one of the coolest guys in audio and a kindred spirit. I learned so much from him.

    Farewell Steve.

  5. Steve was a very honest and genuine guy. He was not at all pretentious and offered his educated advice in a kind thoughtful manner. He kindly lent me gear and tubes and was always interested in my feedback. The reason I purchased open baffles is due to Steve’s like for them. I’ll also remember him as an avid tennis player and sports competitor. I will miss him.

  6. Our deepest regrets and thoughts, one was always in great company with Steve . Our many listening sessions and adventures with Cobbled Together Audio were always enjoyable . Steve was a true audio artisan and a true friend . You will be missed . Rest in Peace my friend .
