Dolores Astramowicz, 89, loving wife of over 60 years to the late Matthew Astramowicz was called home to be with God on July 10, 2025, at the Curtis Home in Meriden. Born on April 7, 1936, a daughter of the late Raoul and Clara Wollschlager Nobert, Dolores is survived by her children, Mary Claire Andrew, Lynn Higgins and her husband Arthur, Matthew E. Astramowicz, and Lisa Burke. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jeremy and Nicholas Higgins, Bailey, Owen, and Whitney Andrew, and Brigid and Catherine Burke, and sister, Justine LeMay. Besides her husband Matthew, she was predeceased by her sisters, Lorraine Havell and Dorothy Novalis, and brother, Francis Nobert. Dolores was a life-long Meriden resident who graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing and went on to work for over 30 years at Meriden-Wallingford Hospital. She will be remembered for having spent her life helping others and for her strong faith in God. Dolores’s family would like to thank the staff at the Curtis Home and Franciscan Home and Hospice Care in Meriden for their devoted long-term care, and for making a difficult time easier.

Friends are invited to visit with Dolores’s family on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The CT Nurse’s Honor Guard will hold a Nightingale Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Angels-St. Joseph Parish, 22 Goodwill Ave., Meriden. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions in Dolores’s memory be made to The Franciscan Life Center, 271 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451, www.flcenter.org.
