Born in: Montague, Massachusetts
Resided in: New Haven, Connecticut

Helen A. Becker, 95, wife of the late Louis Becker, Jr., passed away at The Willows of Autumn Lake, in Woodbridge on August 26, 2025 with her devoted daughter and son-in-law by her side. Born in Montague, MA November 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anastasia Ostroski Klepacki. She was the loving mother of Diane Maltese (Ken) of New Haven, with whom she lived for more than thirty years and Eileen Allard of Summerfield, FL, grandmother of David Maltese (Shannon), Jennifer Maltese Leary (Daniel), Karen Leetch (Eric), Steven Allard, and Kevin Allard, and great-grandmother of Tighe, Hallie, Michael, Mark, Grace, Christian, Mary, and David, and many loving nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her brothers, John and Eugene Klepacki, and sisters, Sophie Fritz, Wanda Kusmeskus and Mary Kopinto.

Helen worked as a housekeeper at Milford Hospital for many years after being widowed with two young daughters at the age of 36.  Helen was best known for her sense of humor and loved being surrounded by friends and family. Diane’s friends became her friends, because as she said, she’d had to steal them after all her friends passed. Helen loved traveling, especially to the Caribbean islands, but her greatest love in life was her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the many staff of The Willows who went above and beyond for Helen. Also special thanks to our many friends and relatives who visited and called Mom regularly, bringing meals and treats and wedding bouquets to catch and above all, much love.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Helen’s family on Friday, August 29th from 4-7 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 30th in St. Aedan Church, 112 Fountain St., New Haven. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or to the Resident Council Fund, c/o The Willows, 225 Amity Rd., Woodbridge, CT 06525.
