It’s with deep sadness and a shattered heart that we announce the passing of Kevin P. Fitzsimmons.

Kevin was born at Good Samaritan Hospital on December 15, 1975 in West Islip, NY to his loving parents, Thomas and Mary Fitzsimmons.

He graduated from Lindenhurst High School and went on to attend Quinnipiac University. In college, he met his life-long best friends and brothers; Tom, Tim, Mike, Sean, Matt and Chad, whom he loved dearly. They shared many fun times and were always there for one another.

Kevin became very involved in the designing, planning, and building of Dockside Brewery in Milford from its inception to its completion. He then became the General Manager with his friend & partner, Bob.

His lifelong dream and passion was to own his own restaurant. He became instrumental in the design and planned the construction of Haven Beer Co. in Hamden. He was the owner and General Manager, having put his heart and soul into making Haven the huge success that it’s today.

Family was everything to him! He loved going on annual family vacations and was extremely competitive. He loved family game night, especially Monopoly and loved to win. He enjoyed watching movies with his sister and going to her house for family gatherings.

Kevin was a big sports fan! He enjoyed going to Yankee Stadium with his brother Tom, as well as playing golf. He and his brother-in-law were season ticket holders at Citifield and both were huge Mets fans. They enjoyed tailgating and would always complain about the Mets.

He loved his nephew Matthew and enjoyed watching his baseball games, especially when their team won.

Kevin was selfless and one of the most generous people! He had a huge heart and would do anything for his friends and family. He was extremely funny and always kept us laughing. Anyone who met him would leave the room laughing. Kevin made an indelible mark in many people’s lives and his legacy at Kevin’s Castle in which he built will live on forever

He is pre-deceased by his father Thomas. He is survived by his loving mother Mary; his brother Thomas; his sister Theresa Jacovelli; his brother-in-law Kevin; his nephew Matthew; his Godfather Uncle Joe; his brother-in-law Steve; and his nieces, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Friends are invited to visit with Kevin’s family on Friday October 24th from 3-8 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, St. Paul IV Parish, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
