On May 25, 2004 Aimee Brunswig Harris of Hamden, died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice after a brief illness. Aimee was the beloved wife of the late Richard G. Harris, mother of Linda H. Hoffman and her husband, David of Olympia, WA and Walter D. Harris of Newton, MA, sister of Lucile Dunmire of Colorado Springs, CO, grandmother of Adam and Heather Hoffman. Born in Los Angeles, CA, January 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Sarah Clark Brunswig. Aimee attended the Marlboro School in Los Angeles and graduated from Wellesley College in 1941. Aimee first moved to Hamden in 1945. She also lived in Baghdad, Iraq, where her husband Dick was a press officer for the U.S. Information Agency. She was a volunteer at the Connecticut Valley Hospital. Aimee enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bridge, golfing and traveling to visit family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at The Unitarian Society, 700 Hartford Turnpike, Hamden on Wednesday, June 2, at 11 A.M. A reception will follow at 12:30 PM at the New Haven Country Club. It is suggested that memorial contributions be sent to The Aimee and Richard Harris Fund at Gaylord Hospital, P.O. Box 400, Wallingford, CT 06492. Arrangements with BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
