Akile Kareco, beloved husband of Ksanthipi Lito Kareco passed away May 10, 2022 in CT Hospice.  He was born in Gjirokaster, Albania April 6, 1928, a son of the late Thoma and Alexsandra Qendro Kareco.
Father of Thoma Kareco and his wife Albina Kareco, and Kosta Kareco and his wife Svanilda Kareco.
Grandfather of Antea, Donald, Alexa, and Erica.
Predeceased by siblings Kasiani, Eftimia, Andromaqi and Ksanthipi.
Uncle of the late Jani and survived by Aleko, Ligor, Eric and Nina.

Akile worked for most of his life as a livestock veterinarian at different farms and spent the last ten years of his employment at Tirana’s Town Hall as the town’s specialist of farming and agriculture.

Family and friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, May 13, 2022 in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd. Orange from 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.  Interment in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 937 Case Pkwy., Waterbury, CT 06708.
