HADDAM - Alfred ''Roy'' L. Alexander of 77 Little Meadow Road, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at his home. He was the husband of Marilyn Cook Alexander. Born in Meriden on Jan. 10, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Louise Mattick Alexander. He had been employed as a machinist at Electric Boat in Groton until his retirement in 1995, and was a member of the Masons, Frederick Lodge #14 in Plainville. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Depaolis of Waterford, CT; two sons, William Alexander of Columbus, IN and David Alexander of Waterford; six grandchildren, Brandy Depaolis of Waterford, Amy Alexander of Michigan, Katie Alexander and Lauren Alexander, both of Virginia, Kelli Alexander and Taylor Alexander, both of Waterford; five stepchildren, Stanley Gura of Meriden, Daniel Gura and Mary Emerling, both of Colchester, JoAnne Gura of New Britain and Diane Levy of Plainville; nine step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jeanette Eshner and Virginia Fox and a brother, Robert Alexander. The funeral will be Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. at Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial in West Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
