Algimantas A. Simanauskas
In the West Haven VA Medical Center, Dec. 17, 2006, Algimantas "AL" A. Simanauskas, 61 of Campbell Ave., West Haven, brother of Birute Monico of Canton, CT and Kestutis Simanauskas of Bristol, CT. Also survived by two nieces and a nephew. Al was born in Coburg, Germany, May 23, 1945 a son of the late Petras and Izabele Cekevicius Simanauskas, he served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam and received The Silver Star and retired from the US Army. Al also was a volunteer at the VA Hospital. Funeral service Wed., Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven. Friends may call Wed. from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment with military honors in CT State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown.
Al was the sweetest man I have ever met. I will always remember his kind words, his funny jokes, and the Veterans memories that we shared about his experiences and my fathers. He will truly be missed, may you rest in peace AL….
So sorry to see that Al has departed. He is in a better place and no longer has to suffer with his ailments.
