Alisha Shirley Taylor, 30, passed away on June 19, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1992 in Port Chester, NY before moving to Meriden, where she graduated from Platt High School and still resided. She went on to become a traveling Certified Nursing Assistant, working for different companies, and would travel anywhere to take care of her patients. Alisha got joy from taking care of people that she loved, especially her family and patients.
Alisha was a mother who went above and beyond to make sure her daughters and nephew were happy and loved unconditionally. An extremely hard worker, she always made sure her children did not need for anything.
She was a daughter who loved to drive her parents crazy in the most loving and caring way. She would do anything to make them proud.
As a sister, Alisha was always an ear to listen and give sound, logical, loving advice. She never judged and was always supportive. She was not scared to tell you when you were wrong, and help you get it right. She knew just what to say and do to get you in a better mood and put a smile on your face.
Alisha was a fun, lovable person, always down for a good time, especially crazy adventures with her brother. A jokester at heart, she loved pulling pranks. Her good energy was contagious.
Alisha enjoyed taking her children on new adventures, especially to New York City, specifically Times Square. She appreciated foods from other cultures and tried new cuisine whenever possible. Taking her daughters to the park or beach, singing karaoke, dancing, cooking, doing photoshoots, were some of her favorite pastimes. She found solace in prayer, reading her bible, and going to church with her daughters.
Family meant everything to her!
Alisha will be forever missed by her father, Ronnie Taylor; her mother, Margaret Taylor; stepfather, Larry Congiu; daughters, Aaronese and Amerie Morales; siblings, Cory Peterson, Ashley Peterson & Giovanna Congiu; nephew, Jaden Peterson; her very special aunts, Donna Destefano and Nancy Ortag, who helped raise her; grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in-law & close friends that loved her deeply. She is predeceased by her uncles that are in heaven with her now, Frank Peterson, Alex Destefano & Freddy Taylor.
A funeral service celebrating Alisha’s life will be held on Friday, June 30th, at 1:00 p.m. in BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Friends may visit with her family from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will be held in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden.
