MERIDEN - Ana Rivera, 55, of 1155 Hanover Avenue, died Tuesday. May 15. 2007, at MidState Medical Center, after courageously fighting illness for one and one-half years. She was the wife of Fernando Rivera, Sr. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on Nov. 14, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Celestino and Trinidad Cordero Muniz. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ada and her husband, Ezequiel Alvarez and Claribel Rivera, all of Meriden; three sons, Fernando and his wife, Katiria Rivera, Jr., Jose Rivera, Sr. and Manuel Torres, Jr., all of Meriden, eight grandchildren, Fernando, Cristian, Jael, Manuel, Angel, Jordan, Jenna and Jose, Jr.; ten brothers and sisters, Raul Muniz, Rosa Muniz, Justino Muniz, Pablo Muniz, Rosario Muniz, Amparo Muniz, Santos Muniz, Ramon Muniz, Fernando Muniz and Miguel Muniz. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jose Angel and three brothers and sisters. The funeral will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.
