Uncasville, CT - Anna A. Miley, 76, wife of Clifford A. Miley of 410 Old Colchester Rd., passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 in Backus Hospital, Norwich after a brief illness. She was born in Allentown, PA, June 14, 1923 a daughter of the late Amandes V. and Esther Kreiner Albright and had lived in Meriden for 27 years before moving to Uncasville in 1986. Mrs. Miley was a teacher at Southington High School for 25 years and at the time of her retirement in 1984 she was Chairman of the English Department and advisor to the school newspaper. A scholarship to benefit students of Southington High School was established in her name. She graduated from Allentown High School, Cedar Crest College and received her Masters Degree in Education from Central CT State College in 1962. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Meriden, the Faith Trumbull Chapter, D.A.R. of Norwich, the Ameranth Club of Center Lodge #79 A.F. & A.M. of Meriden, the Colonial Dames 16th Century Thomas Alney Chapter of Allentown, PA and the Cedar Crest Alumni Association. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Stephen H. Miley of Essex, CT and Daniel J. Miley of Guilford, CT, two sisters, Carolyn Lang of Macungee, PA and Louise Groner of Palisades PT, CA, two grandsons, Jonathan J. and Michael B. Miley and a great-granddaughter Luna Miley. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT, Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
