Anna M. Stanley, age 90, passed away at her home in New Haven on March 18, 2015. Born in New Haven on December 9, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Mary Soares Santos. She was the widow of the late Anthony M. Pina, and later of Howard Stanley, Sr. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her children; daughter Priscilla A. Andrade, and sons Howard (Melody) Stanley, Jr., Frank Stanley, Jesse Stanley, and James (Aldina) Stanley, Sr. Also survived by a sister, Thresa (Bobby) Myers, grandchildren; Michael, Kim, Angela, and David Wynkoop, Paulie Clark, Bridget LaRonda, Simone, Jason, Frank Jr., Shawn, and Nina Stanley, Jaime, Jesse Jr., James Jr., and Adam Stanley, 38 beloved great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by daughter Antoinette 'Sissy' Wynkoop, sisters; Rosie Duarte, Mary Santos, Mary 'Pia' Soares, Angelina Mendes, and brothers Peter and Antonio Santos. Anna was very proud of her Cape Verdean heritage, having served as a past President of the Cape Verdean Club in New Haven. She also owned a catering business in New Haven for several years, and briefly worked at Yale University. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden Monday, March 23 at 10:15 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St., New Haven at 11 AM. Friends may visit with her family on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
