Anne Lillis Schwab, beloved wife of Charles L. Schwab, Jr. of 64 years, passed away Jan. 5, 2015 in the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. Loving mother of Nancy Schwab (Thomas) Mahan, Charles L. Schwab III, Philip J. (Carolyn) Schwab NHPD Ret. and Robert L. (Leslie) Schwab Esq. Grandmother of John C. Mahan, Sarah E. Mahan, Alicia C. Mahan, Charles P. Schwab, Joseph F. Schwab, Whitney L. Schwab, Trent Schwab, and Natalie A. Schwab. Sister of Mary L. Sweeney, sister-in-law of Pamela E. Castiglione. She is predeceased by a brother Joseph D. Lillis, brothers-in-law, Robert Sweeney, Frank Castiglione MD, Robert E. Schwab and a sister-in-law Frances Schwab. Anne was born in New Haven July 12, 1924 a daughter of the late John F. and Anna J. Sheehan Lillis. She received a BA degree from New Haven Teachers College and a Master's Degree form Yale University. She was a teacher in the New Haven School system starting as an elementary teacher and later she was a career counselor in the adult education skill center. Mrs. Schwab was a communicant of St. Aedan's Church. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday morning Jan. 8. at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Aedan's Church, 112 Fountain St., New Haven at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with her family Thursday morning from 9-10:30 at the funeral home. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

  1. Dear Bob and family, my sincere condolences for the passing of Anne. She was always so pleasent to me on the phone at the office of the firm while I worked there for ten years. She always asked about my family and always asked me to not disturb you if you were busy. I wish you and your family wonderful memories of her, for memories are the windows of our lives.
