Anthony John Romandetti, age 92, of East Haven, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Masonicare in Wallingford after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Jamilkowski Romandetti. Born in New Haven on September 30, 1923 he was a son of the late John & Beatrice (Lombardi) Romandetti. In his retirement he has been a resident of East Haven, previously a longtime resident of Hamden and member of Paradise Country Club. Anthony served in the US Army during WWII as a Military Policeman, attaining the rank of Sergeant. After the war he became co-owner of Pollio's Dairy Products in New Haven along with his brother, the late James Romandetti. After selling his business of 25 years, he then worked and retired from Winchester Repeating Arms Co. Anthony is survived by 3 children, Anthony J. Romandetti & his wife Frances of Hamden, Anita (Romandetti) Petrarca & her husband Donald of Branford and Alan Romandetti with whom he lived with; 5 grandchildren, Karen, Robert, Kimberly, Christine & Donald Jr; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Maria, Dylan, & Gianna; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Gianni and Rylynn and his sister Belle Carbone of Hamden, all who will miss him dearly. Friends may attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, March 24th at 10:30 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may also visit with his family at the funeral home Thursday from 9:00 AM prior to his Service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
