Arlene Brickheimer Horrigan, 95, loving wife of over 70 years to the late Arthur Horrigan, passed away on July 14, 2022 at LiveWell in Plantsville, CT. She was born in Athens, WI, one of 11 children and grew up working in her father’s cheese factory. After graduating high school she was one of many young women from the Midwest recruited by the U.S. government to fill jobs in Washington D.C. vacated by the young men who were sent overseas during WWII. After the war, she traveled to CT, settling in Meriden, where she met her husband Arthur. While in Meriden, she worked for International Silver, Miller Co., and MRM before retirement. Before moving to LiveWell, Arlene spent the last four years at Mulberry Gardens, also in Plantsville. Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at both facilities for the professional and loving care received. More caring and kind people could not be found. Arlene leaves her daughter Deborah of East Hartford, three sisters, niece Karen, numerous other nieces and nephews, and adopted family Beth and Bonnie, who were very special friends. She loved people, and they loved her.
