Erickson, Arline Rita Barera Long-time Hamden resident Arline Barera Erickson, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away March 7, 2010. She was 81. The daughter of the late Pierre J. & Mary Taberelli Barera, Arline is survived by her husband Donald L. Erickson; daughter and son-in-law Donna and Robert Olsen of Hamden; son and daughter-in-law Wayde and Jeanette Erickson of Branford; and four grandchildren: Carlene Olsen, Caitlin Erickson, Amy Erickson and Alexander Erickson. She also leaves a devoted niece Nicole Warden and brother, John ' Ray' Barera. Arline was predeceased by a brother Pierre Barera in August of 2009. Arline enjoyed gardening, baking and spending time with family and friends at her home on Dallas Street in Hamden where she and Donald lived for more than 50 years. A life member of the Hamden/North Haven AMVETS Post #9 Auxiliary, she volunteered endless hours for the veterans. Arline was also a familiar face to many at the family owned Ray's Luncheonette of Hamden in the 50's and early 60's. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 at 10:30 AM in the Church of the Ascension, 1040 Dunbar Hill Rd, Hamden. Contributions can be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 942, New Haven, CT 06504. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden.
