Arline Freda Louise Gritz

MERIDEN - Arline Freda Louise Gritz, 92, of 320 Colony Street, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Herman A. Gritz. Born in Southington on October 22, l913, she was the daughter of the late Herman G. and Emilie Ardnt Flechtner. She graduated from Central Connecticut State College and was employed as a teacher at Laurel Business School. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Altar Guild and the Lutheran Church Women. She enjoyed arts and crafts and the UConn Women's Basketball Team. She is survived by a son, Robert Herman Gritz of Hancock, MD; a daughter, Shirley Louise Gritz; two sisters, Virginia Spintzyk of Anton, TX and June Riss of Dobbs Ferry, NY; six grandchildren, Tracy Weatherwax of Nassau, New York, Robert Scott Zoller-Gritz of Columbia, MD, Brenda Gritz of Latham, NY, Eric Krampitz of New York, Jennifer Page of Meriden and Blair Goodlin, Jr. of Urbana, IL; a son-in-law, Blair Goodlin, Sr. of Meriden; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marcia G. Goodlin; a sister, Louise Edie Dichsen and a brother, Rev. Robert Flechtner. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden.
