MERIDEN - Arthur Stevens Webster, 72, of 461 Pratt Street Ext., died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Haven. He was the husband for forty years of Marie Beaudoin Webster. Born in Meriden, Nov. 1, 1930, he was the son of the late Arthur and Augusta Kiewel Webster. He served during peacetime in the U.S. Navy and had been employed by the Perry Rug Company. He was an avid fisherman and baseball fan. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cynthia and Rodney Thomas, Denise Rivard of Meriden and Barbara and David Grindell of Wallingford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Lynn Webster of Meriden and John and Mary Webster of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Jane Patzke of Meriden; and was a loving grandfather to five grandchildren, Amanda Webster, Brittany Webster, Kaitlyn Webster, Michael Duffy and Kelly Webster, all of Meriden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Webster. Funeral service Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT. The Rev. Randy Somody will officiate. Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. If desired, contributions in Mr. Webster's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
