Audrey J. Foyer, of Orange, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Hospital of St. Raphael with her daughter by her side. She was born on July 3, 1925 to the late Thomas and Anne (Warren) Mitchell. Audrey was the widow of Bernard J. Foyer, Jr., retired Police Chief of the Town of Orange. Audrey was employed by the State Department of Corrections as a secretary. She was a longtime resident of Orange and been involved in many activities throughout her life, which included the Holy Infant Church Women’s Guild, American Legion Post 127, and the Orange Republican Women’s Guild. She enjoyed the senior chair-group exercise at High Plains Community Center and socializing with her many friends. She was a member of the Aquabelles Red Hat Society of Orange, where she so looked forward to her monthly luncheon gatherings. Besides her love and devotion to her family, she most enjoyed her monthly family pizza party with her clan. She loved to travel and close to her heart was Scotland, the birthplace of her father. Audrey was an avid reader, and a great trivia player, able to recall many of the old movies and the actors who played in them. She very much enjoyed gardening and the beauty of all flowers. As Audrey aged, she enjoyed the simpler things in life; watching squirrels and the variety of birds that visited her patio each day.
She leaves her devoted children; Susan Foyer Smith (Robert) and Donald Foyer (Barbara), her loving grandchildren; Donald Foyer, Jr. and Ashley Smith, and her cherished great-grandchildren; Leia and Violet Foyer. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Thomas Foyer, infant granddaughter, Cheryl Ann Foyer, and sisters Anne and Mildred Mitchell. The family wishes to extend their heart filled thanks to all that cared and assisted with Audrey, especially Dr. Eric Fan and the other wonderful doctors who were involved in her care. To the wonderful and caring neighbors and caregivers, Ita, Eve and Libby, who always took the time to chat, and Lucia for getting her daily newspaper, it meant so much to Audrey.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road, Orange on Wednesday, August 18th at 12:00 p.m. Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in Audrey’s memory to the Holy Infant Church or to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741-5000. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, Hamden.
