Barbara Ann Manning

Barbara Ann (Burtasket) Manning of Hamden, CT passed away on December 8, 2025.  She was born on October 20, 1936 in South Portland, ME to the late John and Ruth (Armstrong) Burtasket. Barbara was also predeceased by her husband James Manning; and her brothers Cecil, John and Stanley Burtasket. She was the mother of Susan Clevenger (Roger) of Gaffney, SC; her son, Robert Manning (Kathryn) of Cheshire, CT; grandmother to Danielle Rivas of Englishtown, NJ, Nicole (John) Drum of Freehold, NJ, John Rivas of Old Bridge, NJ, Nicholas Rivas of Harrison, NJ, Jillian and Justine Manning of Cheshire, CT, and Analise Mcgoldrick of Gaffney, SC; and great-grandmother to John Patrick and Lila Drum of Old Bridge, NJ.

Barbara retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a claims processor. She was a former member and past president of the Hamden Promenaders Square Dance Club and owner of The Crate in Madison, CT. She was a member of Grace and St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hamden.

Friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 21 at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. Her Funeral Service will begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Friends may also attend her burial on Monday, December 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Centerville Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Hamden.
