Barbara H. O'Donnell
Barbara H. O'Donnell, 79, of North Haven passed away at Connecticut Hospice on Saturday, October 24th, 2015. Born in New Haven April 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Hannah Wolfe Sperzel. She was the adored wife of 59 years to Thomas E. O'Donnell, Sr. of North Haven. Devoted mother of Dawne M. Ferri (Robert) and Thomas E. O'Donnell, Jr. (Janice Kuzub), both of Wallingford, and loving grandmother of Nicole and Dominic Ferri. Also survived by her brother, Ronald W. Sperzel (Betty). She was predeceased by her brother George F. Sperzel. Besides her family, her greatest accomplishment was being the architect and builder of their home in New Hampshire. Her joy was being a domestic engineer and caretaker for those in need. She enjoyed traveling around the world, adventures while camping, and was a passionate gardener. Barbara was a Wallingford Teacher Assistant, a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, a Cub and Boy Scout Leader, an accomplished artist and crafter, a talented seamstress, and delicious cookie baker, as well as a crossword and Sudoku puzzle aficionado. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden from 3:00-7:00 PM Tuesday evening, October 27th with a Funeral Service Celebrating Barbara's life to be held at 6:00 PM.
