Belia Medina Curran, wife of John A. Curran of Brentwood Dr., Hamden, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 in the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was born in San Antonio, TX September 13, 1915 a daughter of the late Carlos and Jovita Medina and had resided in Hamden since 1969. She worked at the Southern New England Telephone Co. in New Haven for 26 years until retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Mount Carmel Quilting Club and the Telephone Pioneers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Olivia Ann Martson of New Haven, a son, John A. Curran, Jr., and two grandchildren, Ryan and Gina Curran. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Curran and a sister, Olivia Medina. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Will be Celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 12 Noon. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Raphael Foundation, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511.
