Bernice Esther Taylor

Southington - Bernice Esther Taylor, 81, formerly of 711 Savage St., died Wednesday Dec. 13, 2000, in Rancho Mirage, CA. She was the beloved wife of the late George Taylor. She was born in Meriden, June 11, 1919 a daughter of the late Wilbur and Esther Fogg Couch. She worked for many years as a hairdresser at the Golden Touch Beauty Salon in Meriden and retired as a hairdresser at the Masonic Home. She had been a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and the Meriden Chapter of the D.A.R. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Donald Dobratz of Murfreesboro, TN, Leslie and Joel Hirshberg of Rancho Mirage, CA, Elizabeth and Gerald Pavano of Southington, a son, George Jeffery Taylor of West Baldwin, ME, a sister, Rosina Calderwood of Stuart, FL, nine devoted grandchildren and one precious great grandson. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Rev. Dr. Robert Friedrich will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
