Bernice Fieseler
Bernice Fieseler, a 40-year resident of Bridgeport, CT, died peacefully on January 18, 2016, after a brief illness. She was three months away from celebrating her 80th birthday. Bernice was born and raised in Forest Hills, NY, where she lived until transferring to General Electric Company's headquarters in Fairfield, CT. Bernice was the long-time Executive Assistant for GE's Senior Vice-President for Research and Development, and was recognized there for her organizational skills and commitment to her work. After leaving GE, Bernice joined Baxter Healthcare Corporation's office in Westport, CT, where she coordinated administrative tasks for a large sales force. In retirement, Bernice enjoyed singing in her church choir, travelling and keeping in close touch with her family. Bernice spent her last five years at Middlebrook Farms of Trumbull assisted living facility, where she brightened everyone's days with her optimism and wry sense of humor. Bernice was the daughter of Helen (Koburger) and Bernhard Fieseler, the sister of William (wife Helen), and devoted aunt to nephews Robert and Richard. She spent many happy years with her lover and companion, Walter. A memorial to celebrate Bernice's life will be held in the coming spring.
