Betty K. Blosser
MERIDEN - Betty "Whitey" K. Blosser, 78, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Maynard "Pete" Blosser. Born in Bristol, TN on October 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sallie Cashwell Ketchum. She was a graduate of Franklin High School in Franklin, VA and prior to her retirement in 1989, Betty worked for several years at AGC in South Meriden and also for Winn Dixie in Dunedin, FL. She lived most of her life in Meriden, with a brief stay in Dunedin and Palm Harbor, FL until moving back to Meriden to be near her family. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing games on the computer, and especially doing crossword puzzles. Betty was a parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Church. She is survived by three children, Cathryn "Katie" Heinig and her husband, Gary, David Blosser and his wife, Linda and Eileene Carlone and her husband, Saverio, all of Meriden; ten grandchildren, Tracey Falasco and her husband, David of North Haven, Laurie Amaker of North Haven, Christopher Heinig and his wife, Paula, Todd Blosser and his wife, Lisa, Cory Blosser and Scott Blosser, all of Meriden, Matthew Carlone and his wife, Mary of North Haven, Roxanne Castaldy and her husband, Matthew of Exeter, NH, Justine Rines and her husband, Stephen of Burlington, MA and Joseph Carlone of Meriden; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Josh, Christopher Jr., Laurissa, Barbara, Isabella, Alina, Sophia, Justin, Kathryn, Teresa, Kaitlyn and Carly. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Maudleen Sellers. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
