Betty Wheaton Leibiger

North Haven - Betty Wheaton Leibiger, 85, accomplished violinist and musical child prodigy passed away Mon., Sept. 5, 2005 at the Masonic Health Care Center. She was the wife of Ernest K. Leibiger. She was born in Danbury, Dec. 1, 1919 a daughter of the late Ora C. and Bessie Pierce Wheaton. She was a Yale Music School Alumnus and former Julliard student. Betty performed for many Churches, Clubs and symphony halls and was a member, along with her mother, of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra for many years. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Eberg of North Haven, Joan Farley of Wallingford, Sally-Jo and Bill Nanfeldt of Haskell, NJ, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Karen Leibiger of Durham, CT, nine grandchildren and their spouses, Kent and Linda Eberg of Hamden, Vicki Eberg of New Haven, Cheryl and Robert Gilbert of Hamden, Deborah and Eric Tangney of Wallingford, Robert and Sherri Farley, Jr. of North Haven, Kimberly and Anthony Ferriaolo of Cheshire, Tania Ryalls of Brooklyn, NY, Rachel P. Leibiger and Emily P. Leibiger both of Durham, thirteen great- grandchildren, James Eberg of Branford, William, Samantha, Christopher Eberg of Hamden, Samantha Farley, Robert Farley both of North Haven, Brett Pilgrim of Hamden, Kyle and Shyanne Magoon both of Wallingford, Lucien, Lexi and Leah Ferriaolo all of Cheshire and Alyssa Gilbert of Hamden. Funeral service Wed., Sept. 7, at 9 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Tues.
