Beverly Guyette Barnes, 77, wife of the late Ernest M. Barnes, passed away at home in West Haven on August 9, 2014. She was born in West Haven on January 27, 1937; a daughter of the late Frederick and Lois Ludington Guyette. Beloved mother of Steven Barnes and his wife Sandra of West Haven, Robert Barnes and his wife Michelle, also of West Haven, and Gregory Barnes and his wife Michele of Bridgeport. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Moore, of West Haven, as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Ernest M. Barnes, Jr. She had worked in the Records Dept. at Southern Conn. State University for 25 years prior to her retirement, and was a longtime member of First Congregational Church of West Haven. Friends may visit with Beverly's family on Wednesday, August 13, from 5 to 8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT - TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Thursday morning, August 14, at 10 AM. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven.
