Carl Frederick Yentsch, 97, husband of 69 years of Janet Bradley Yentsch passed away Jan. 26, 2012 at Elim Park, Cheshire. Father of Nancy Yentsch Haughwout/Robert E. Dietter, David A.(Maryann) Yentsch, grandfather of Bret Haughwout and his wife Carolyn Van Gemert, Bruce Haughwout and his wife Ann DeLauro, Tracy Yentsch Hlavaty, Krista Yentsch Jacobs, great grandfather of Christian & Austin Haughwout, Amanda & Valerie Jacobs, Jake & Kevin Hlavaty. Also survived by good friend Bradford Hawes. Mr. Yentsch was born in New Haven July 23, 1914 son of the late Carl G. and Catherine Dankas Yentsch and had resided in North Haven for many years before moving to Cheshire. He was employed as a regional sales manager at Universal Wire Products prior to his retirement in 1979. Carl was a long time member, treasurer and usher at the Spring Glen Congregational Church, a member of the West Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept, and a 70 year member of Trumbull Lodge # 22 A.M. & F. M. He served on the Board of the YMCA, was a past president of the High Lane Club, enjoyed golf at the New Haven Country Club, and was a lifelong Red Sox fan. Friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN Tuesday Jan 31 from 4-7 PM. Funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

  5. To Janet and the family, A year or so ago I was visiting Carl and Janet with my parents (Richard and Hazel Kopp). Carl and Janet had us over for dinner at the restaurant on the premises.
