Carmela Meriano, 91, of North Haven formerly of Hamden, wife of the late Peter Meriano, passed away on January 22, 2013. Born in New Haven on August 31, 1921 to the late Anthony and Catherine Pascarella Zampano. Carmela will be remembered by her daughter, Judith Permanente and her husband Louis of Melbourne, FL; granddaughter, Catherine P. Webb and her husband Glenn of W. Melbourne, FL; grandson, Louis R. Permanente and his wife Kelly of Greer, SC; great-grandchildren, Emma & Caleb Webb and Katy, Peter & Michael Permanente; siblings, Philomena Parker of Hamden, Nicholas Zampano and his wife Joann of Northford , Ann Cocchiaro of North Haven, Catherine Roehl and her husband William of North Haven, and Elizabeth DePonte of Wallingford. Predeceased by her brothers, James Zampano and Anthony Zampano, Jr. Friends are invited to Celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church on Friday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery. BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden in care of arrangements. Donations in Carmela's memory may be sent to Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave,, Hamden, CT 06514.

  4. Dear Judy and your family, Your mom was an incredible human being. Always smiling and ready for hugs. I am saddened today knowing we lost another one of Gods beautiful creatures…but just think she is up their with my daddy and nonnie and her pete and they are sharing a million laughs. Heaven is singing joyfully with all these amazing and beautiful people back at his home…I have always loved your mom, you and your family…I wish you peace in knowing she was loved and is in a happier place…
