Catherine 'Katie' Kelly, 85, wife of the late Cornelius Kelly passed away December 2, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born in Manhattan, New York on Feb. 25, 1929 a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Foster O'Shea and had resided in Breezy Point, NY, 'The Irish Riviera' for many years before moving to Hamden, CT in November 2012. She was the loving mother of Stephen Kelly and his wife Rosann, of Mooresville, NC., Cornelius Kelly and his wife Diane, of Hamden, CT, and Kathleen Kelly of Staten Island, NY. Beloved grandmother of Daniel Kelly of Mooresville, NC and Emily Kelly of Hamden, CT. Sister of George Laborde of New York, New York. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by a sister Mary, and brothers Michael, Johnny, William and James. Her family would like to thank the staff at Atria Larson Place for their care and comfort during the last two years, and Hilary Smith who took such tender care of her in her final days. Relatives and friends may visit with her family on Thursday December 4 at BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE HAMDEN, CT from 4-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Monsignor Anthony Marchitelli in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 1634 Mahon Ave. Bronx NY, Friday morning at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Alzheimers Assoc. www.alzheimers.org.
