Cecelia Lostys

Cecelia Lostys, age 96, of Hamden, passed away on December 9, 2022. Born in New Haven on November 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Karl Sr. and Agnes (Pinter) Gibiser. She was the widow of Faustina Lostys. Cecelia was a graduate of Commercial High School in New Haven and then worked for the Knights of Columbus. She was a longtime resident of Hamden and parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church. Cecelia loved to read, crochet, and play Bingo. She is survived by her children; Francis (Ann) Lostys, Genny (Joe) Bogacki, and John Lostys, granddaughter, Jackie (John) Doran, and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her brother, Karl Gibiser, Jr. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Whitney Manor Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion.
Friends are invited to meet directly at Blessed Sacrament Church, 321 Circular Ave., Hamden at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14th for her Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Contributions in Cecelia’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
