Chome Vilay, 67, of Meriden, loving husband of Lam (Vilajong) Vilay, passed away on March 30, 2024, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was born in Bolikhamsai, Laos on March 1, 1957, a son of the late Duong and Pangtha Vilay. Besides his wife Lam, he is survived by his loving children Bounnam “Ty” Vilay and his wife Phousavanh, and Tammy Vilay. He also leaves his grandchildren Max and Mya Vilay, Cameron Soto, and his siblings in Laos.
He was a man that wore many hats and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to family, friends and strangers. He was the best grandfather that the grandkids could ever ask for. He was always going the extra mile just to see a smile on their faces. As a father he made many sacrifices to make sure his kids lived a comfortable life. He was the true definition of the rock of our family. He was the president of the Laos community; this is a huge loss for us. He had a huge heart and would give anyone his last. As we mourn, we welcome anyone that would like to attend.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
