Christopher L. Evarts

Christopher L. Evarts, 64, of Milford passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday, February 23, 2017. He was the beloved husband for 35 years of Phyllis Meyerowitz Evarts. Born in Bridgeport, Chris was the son of the late Rita and Burton Evarts and of the late George Erickson. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, where he sang in the choir. Chris was always talented musically. He began acting in musicals and singing in chorus and a cappella groups as a student at Milford High School. Chris continued singing and performing until his final days. Chris also loved going to the theater and concerts with his family. He worked for Stop & Shop for many years and took great pride in his job. Along with Phyllis, Chris is survived by his daughter, Linda Evarts; her husband, Doug Lieb; and his sister, Martha Evarts. A memorial service to celebrate Chris' life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, West Haven.
