Claire M. Burns Staple, age 94, of Hamden, passed away on September 20, 2022 at her home. She is survived by her husband Arthur D. Staple, and several nieces and nephews. Claire was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on December 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Edmund & Blanche (Boisclair) Burns. She was predeceased by her siblings, Irene Hague, Rita Sullivan, Edward, William and Paul Burns. Claire was a Registered Nurse, caring for patients in Roger Williams General Hospital in Rhode Island, and also for many years in hospitals in New Jersey. She relocated from New Jersey to Hamden in 1996.
Claire will be interred in Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in a Private Service. Arrangements are in care of Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT.

I am very sorry to hear that Claire passed away. She was my father’s second cousin. I remember herself and Art’s trips to Ireland We all enjoyed their visits , and the gifts they sent us at Christmas. She was a very nice woman. May she rest in peace.

Sincere sympathy to Art and to Claire’s family. I have many happy memories of Claire and Art’s visits to Ireland and of visiting with them in New Jersey and Hamden. Claire was a great source of stories of the years that our Grandmother, Winifred Beirne (Quinn) spent in America. Claire was a lovely woman and I enjoyed keeping in contact with her over the years. May she rest in peace.

It is with deep regret that we have learned of Aunt Claire’s passing and our sympathy goes out to Claire’s family and uncle Art . She was a kind aunt that did much for my uncle.

If anyone knows Art Staple’s current location, phone number etc. please let me know. His 100 year old sister-in-law Joan Staple would like to speak with him. His old cell phone number no longer works. My cell is 941-303-3434.

Last I provided Claire information on her family tree (Burns, etc.) about 1 year before her passing. If anyone in her family would like a copy of the information and more I would be happy to pass it on.
