Claire M. Stubbs, wife of 30 years to the late Campbell Lawrence Stubbs passed away on November 27, 2013 at the Regency House. She was born in New Haven on January 14, 1943 a daughter of the late Donald E. and Clara Austin Morse and had resided in Milford before moving to Hamden in 1981. She was an administrator at the International School of Hamden and was a long time member of Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Claire and her husband were married there in 1979 and she was a member of the Vestry Committee. They enjoyed traveling, especially the 'road trips'. Claire is survived by her sisters, Elsie Smith of Hamden, Myra Fezza (Andrew), and Judy DiLeone all of North Haven, and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stubbs is also survived by her step children, Martha B. 'Marty' Stubbs of Hamden, Campbell L. 'Larry' Stubbs of FL, Willard B. Stubbs of Washington, DC. and her sister in law Bette Morse. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother David Morse and a brother-in-law Bud Smith. Relatives and friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Sunday, December 1st from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Grace & St. Peter's Church, 2927 Dixwell Ave., Hamden followed by burial in Centerville Cemetery.
