Claudia A. Wickstrand

Claudia A. Wickstrand, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Willows of Woodbridge surrounded by family. She was born May 9, 1937 in Meriden, the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille (Polvani) Ruggles. Claudia had worked for Ulbrich Stainless Steel for more than twenty years prior to retiring. Claudia was known for her beautiful smile, her quick wit, and happy personality. She was a fun-loving Mom who supported her children's activities, even if that included the occasional motorcycle race through the basement of the Yalesville home where she raised her family with Carl. She is survived by her three children Alan Wickstrand of Huntington Beach, CA, Susan Wickstrand of Bethany, CT, and Mike Wickstrand Sammamish, WA, her sister Jaqueline Hill of Venice, Florida, four grandchildren; Carlie, Gretchen, Ben, and Sam, a loving group of nieces and nephews; Rick, Kristin, Ryan, Jay, Keith, Debbie, and Scott, her sister-in-law Joby Wickstrand, and brother-in-laws Jack Budwitz and Norman Hill. She was predeceased by her sister Beverly Budwitz. Relatives and friends may visit with the family onThursday, December 31, 2016 from 2-4 pm at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A memorial service will be held at 3pm.
