Clement R. Goulet, 90, of Torrington, formerly of Prospect, passed away at his home on Friday, July 5, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte Penor Goulet. He was born in Biddeford, ME on August 23, 1933, son of the late Antonio and Imelda Garon Goulet. Clem served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was an officer on the Cheshire Police Department before starting a career as a Corrections Officer for the State of CT where he worked for 23 years. After retiring, Clem also worked as groundkeeper for Whitney Center in Hamden. In between jobs Clem loved going to the casino with his friend Benny. Clem was a lover of animals and spent time enjoying animal documentaries.
He is survived by his children, Maureen Ribortella and her husband John of Fort Myers, FL, Craig Goulet of Torrington, Karl Pokrop and his wife Cindy of Morgantown, PA; 16 loving grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his sister, Claudette Volage of Woodbury. Clement was predeceased by his brother, Richard Goulet.
Friends are invited to visit with Clement’s family on Tuesday, July 9th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St., Cheshire, followed by burial in St. Bridget Cemetery.
