Curtis Harkless

Meriden - Curtis Harkless, 68 husband of the late Mable (Riddle) Harkless passed away at his home on Thursday, March 12, 2009. He was born August 7, 1940 in Lynchberg, SC a son of the late George and Lilly (Wilson) Harkless Sr.. He worked as a linesman for Cox Communications until his retirement in 2005. Curtis is survived by six sons and their spouses, Michael Raye, Jody and Tanya Raye, Curtis Harkless Jr., Clarence Harkless, Greg Harkless and Jerome and Jackie Harkless, five daughters and their spouses, Ada and Orlando Garcia, Verdia and John Mitchell II, Barbara Raye, Debra White, Cynthia and David Badillo, a sister, Gloria Barlow and a brother, George Harkless Jr. He also leaves twenty-six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lavern Williams. He was predeceased by a son, John Raye, five sisters and one brother. A remembrance of Curtis's life will be held on Wednesday (TODAY) at 12:00 noon at the Beecher and Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday ( TODAY) from 10am till noon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
