Pikosky, Daniel In Ashlar Village, Wallingford, Sept. 30, 2001 Daniel Pikosky, 89, died peacefully. He was born in New Haven, Jan. 15, 1912, he lived most of his life in Hamden and North Haven. He was a sucessful business and family man with a wonderful sense of humor and a great sense of adventure for life. He was the sole owner and President of The Banning Co., and General Scientific Equipment Co. Here he created,invented and marketed scientific equipment for medical and manufacturing companies throughout New England. He became President of Hamden Chamber of Commerce and President of the High Lane Club in Hamden. Here Dan had many friends and many good times. He was married to Ruth Graves Pikosky for many years until she died in 1993. He was later married to Elizabeth Ready Pikosky who was a long time family friend. She was with Dan when he passed away. He is also survived by a sister, Eileen Warren of Vermont, a son Michael Pikosky of North Haven and a daughter Ann Pikosky of Plainville. A memorial service will be held at Ashlar Village, Wallingford, Thurs., Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

  1. Still fondly remember our family giving Uncle Dan an onion ring toast (he hated onions). Also many thanksgivings where my father and Uncle Dan would compete to get to the sofa first.
