David Brian Armstead, 51, of Hamden, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 25, 2019. Born in New Haven on April 28, 1967, he was the son of Robert and Sharon (Rourke) Armstead of Hamden. He is survived by his sons, Brian Armstead of TN and Myles Armstead of MD, his sister, Stacy Armstead of Hamden, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He had worked as a mixer at Leon's Bakery for 27 years, and was an avid basketball and Boston Red Sox fan. Although David was known to be rather quiet, he had the ability to make people laugh. He was a kind, gentle, loving person who cherished his family and will truly be missed. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Wednesday, January 30 from 9:30-11:30 a.m, prior to a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating David's life at 12:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment in Centerville Cemetery.

  3. In memory of my brother David – His journey has just begun Don’t think of him as gone away his journey has just begun life holds so many facets this earth is only one Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away and think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so very much

  4. Dear Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Armstead and, Stacy . So very sorry to hear of Davids passing, I was shocked when Brian told me.
